From the moment we set off for the picnic, we were accompanied by beautiful weather and good spirits. We chose Lehighton, Pennsylvania, as our getaway spot, thanks to the hospitality of Mr. Mieczysław Klecha.

The picnic began with Sunday Mass, celebrated by the Foundation’s guest, Father Marek Rogowski. Right after, in the shade of trees on a meadow overlooking ponds, our summer feast began.

The tables filled with delicious food, snacks, and drinks prepared by the Foundation's board and picnic attendees.

Among the treats was a fantastic cold beet soup (chłodnik), which has been made for us for years by our friend Kryspina Czerwińska, along with many other goodies. Our time in nature was made even more pleasant by our host Mr. Mieczysław, who played the accordion.

One of the highlights of this year’s Summer Picnic was the prize raffle, which brought great excitement to everyone—every ticket was a winner.

As always, the proceeds went to the John Paul II Foundation and were sent to Rome. After a full day in Pennsylvania, we returned home relaxed and filled with wonderful memories. See you next July, in 2015!
