On Sunday, November 22, 2015, members of the Friends of the John Paul II Foundation in New York gathered for Holy Mass at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Greenpoint. We thanked God for another year of the Chapter’s activities and prayed for His blessing for all the Benefactors and Friends of our Foundation.
Afterwards, we proceeded to the General Meeting, during which the Chapter’s board presented a summary of the past year’s work, which was filled with a variety of events.
These included: the annual Christmas wafer meeting, a banquet and a picnic; three pilgrim–leisure trips; two beautiful concerts promoting religious music and hymns; two competitions about St. John Paul II – an art contest for children and an online quiz for youth. We also participated in four anniversary Masses and several important religious and social events for the Polish community and America.
The board expressed its gratitude to everyone who helped make the 2015 program a success and invited everyone to the traditional Christmas Wafer Gathering (Opłatek) to be held on December 6.
At the end of the General Meeting, in accordance with the bylaws, all attendees elected a new board for the Chapter, which will be responsible for planning and coordinating events in 2016. The meeting concluded with a joint prayer led by our chaplain, Fr. Józef Szpilski.
